A Boat Cruise, Karaoke and Jason Segel

To say our first week back in Boston has been fun would be an understatement.

We didn't waste any time getting reacquainted with our old routine.

Tuesday, Chuck spent the day at MIT in meetings and buying books so he was ready for school to start the following day.  That night we got all dressed up and headed to the Harbor for a Dinner Boat Cruise. This is something we did last year too and had a blast, so decided to go again this year. The food was really, really good (again) and it was fun to catch up with friends.

Chuck and I didn't get a picture together because we were separated for a lot of the night, catching up with different people. :(

We did have an exciting moment on the way TO the boat cruise as well, when we saw Jason Segel while walking towards the Harbor from the train. Yes, THIS Jason Segel.

As in Marshall from How I Met Your Mother- one of our all time favorite shows that we actually watch every week. Chuck and I freaked out, I said hi to him in a really weird way, he said hello back, and it was pretty much the greatest moment of our year.  I immediately called my sister, Laura, and left her a really high pitched voicemail because she is seriously in love with him and has been for years. When you search his name on her blog, you get a lot of results, including this love letter she wrote to him in 2009.

Wednesday, Chuck had his first day of classes and that night, we went to our friend Rachel's in Beacon Hill to watch the sun set on her rooftop deck.

Sometimes we do things like this and it makes me stop for a second and wonder, "is this real life?"

Thursday night we met up with friends at our old Thursday hangout the Thirsty Ear, the campus karaoke bar. We got to meet several of the LGO '15s there and it was so fun to be back at a familiar place! Then we made the (terrible) decision to go to ANOTHER karaoke bar, the Asgard, which is really just a normal bar that also happens to have karaoke on Thursday nights too. The difference at the Asgard is that they have an actual live band, so when you sing, it's almost like you're the lead singer of a rock band. The place was empty (because it was almost closing time...) so Chuck got to sing with them.

If business school doesn't work out, I think he found his band.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were busy with more classes, homework, time with friends, food, drinks, and catching up on this season of Dexter so we can watch the series finale in a couple of weeks!

Like I said, we didn't waste any time jumping back into the swing of things, and things won't slow down from here on out. This week we have something to do almost every night and then a slew of visitors (yep, already!) start to arrive on Saturday!

Now if I could just find a job, we'd be all set.... :)
